Lifecycle of a logo

Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Some of the best logos are created in a very short timeline which eliminates the distractions and makes you zero in on the important necessary elements.

Collaborating with an Illustrator

Each design is always a collaboration of the client and artist to reach the desired result. But it's rare to have the opportunity to collaborate with someone that speaks the same art language.

As a graphic artist with a strong background in typography, my first exploration with the client are narrowing the fonts choices. I discussed different aspects that the client wanted to emulate in her new logo from the translated meaning of her name to the added flair of illustration.

The client's background is illustration and took the first pass with the narrowed pallet of fonts and played with ideas as part of the process.

After reviewing her digital doodle journey, I took my favored pieces of a few of her ideas, combined and refined them into the quick hand sketch during an online zoom meeting. Within 10 minutes, I quickly went from the sketch to the polished product with the client online for collaborative purposes.

The client was happy with the process, happy with the result.
